We will not concede any position to APC in Abia – Abia PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party, Abia state chapter says, it has fought with the All Progressives Congress, APC in the state and is therefore not ready to concede any position to the party come next general elections in 2019.

The Abia state chairman of the party, Sir Johnson Okebaram Onuigbo stated this yesterday at the party’s headquarters in Umuahia after sensitization of the 57 ward chairmen in Abia North Senatorial District of the state by the State Working Committee, SWC of the party, expressing the consciousness that PDP had fought APC in the past.

“PDP is conscious of the fact that there is APC. We have fought with the party in the past and now, we are not ready to concede any position to the party.

“We (PDP) believe in democracy and there is no other weapon but to send away the impunity ravaging country, the APC”, he said pointing out that PDP in Abia places emphases on APC because they are ruling the country. There is no APC in Abia, hence the party is not a threat to PDP in the state”.

Disclosing the essence of the meeting/sensitization, Sir Onuigbo said it was to “interact and inform them on what they should know as foot soldiers about the activities of Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu, as well as remind them of their duties and importance of their office.

“We also charged them that no ward chairman worth his onions will lose his ward to another party now that the card reader is a legal instrument”, stating that they should do so by sensitizing their people to registered, pointing out that PDP is law-abiding and well behaved.

According to him, the Anambra election serves as an eye-opener as it was used to eliminate ballot box snatching and other irregularities, stating that the ward chairmen were duly charged to sensitize their wards in order to return Gov. Ikpeazu in 2019 and to “flush out APC”.

The meeting continues with other wards in Abia North and South senatorial districts to ensure that all the 184 ward chairmen in the state are sensitized.
