The Lagos Command of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria has assured residents of the state to remain calm in the face of attacks by militants in parts of the state, saying that his men are battle ready to flush them out of the state.
Commander, Lagos Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Otunba James Udoma stated this in a statement on Tuesday, in Lagos. He was apparently referring to alleged attacks on Ogijo community of the state by suspected militants.
Udoma also urged residents of the state to remain vigilant and security conscious, urging them to always notice strange and suspicious movements and objects around them. He urged them to always alert security agencies around them for urgent intervention.
The Commander, while giving assurance to the leaders in different communities not to panic with such development, he urged the traditional leaders, community leaders as well as landlords in various community that Vigilante Group is ready to battle with any militants upsurge in the State.
Adding that the duty to protect citizens lies solidly on patriotic individuals by supplying useful information to the security operatives to ensure that such activities are nip in bud. The security boss also advised owners of uncompleted buildings to ensure cleanliness of their environment at all times in order to discourage all forms of hoodlums operation in such area.
