The West African Examinations Council, (WAEC) have refuted ongoing rumours currently being peddled on social media that it’s headquarters in Abuja has been overtaken by a wild inferno.

In a statement issued via its Head of Public Affairs, Demianus Ojijeogu, the Commission noted that neither the Council’s headquarters (in Lagos) nor any of its offices across Nigeria experienced any fire incident.

“We wish to reassure all candidates, other stakeholders and members of the general public that all our security materials are safe and intact.”
