Speaking with our correspondent, an eyewitness who pleaded for anonymity, confirmed that the armed men stormed Olabode’s campaign office at about 12:15 am by scaling the fence, beat up all the aides they met inside the premises, shot at their target and left.
The victim was latter rushed to an unknown hospital where he is presently receiving treatment. The eyewitness further explained that the armed men were masked.
In a telephone conversation with our correspondent, Olabode said the attack has been reported at the Adigbe Police station. He appealed to the police to ensure that his attackers are arrested and brought to book, saying he did not believe that the attack was politically motivated because he has no issue with anyone.
Olabode contested for the House of Representatives seat for Abeokuta North / Obafemi Owode and Odeda Federal Constituency in the general elections on the platform of ADC.
