Engnr Siam told our Correspondent that installations of ATM machines at strategic positions in Jalingo, the State capital started last year, 2017, pointing out that the exercise has been tremendous and successful.
“The first two Machines were installed last year, 2017, tested and are all working well”,
“One mounted at Roadblock area, while the other one mounted behind the Bureau for Land and Survey office, Jalingo”
“As we speak, we are expecting additional Ten Machines to be installed”, said Buba Siam.
The GM, further disclosed that the Contractor, saddled with responsibility of installing the Ten new Machines has been mobilized.
He also revealed that in the next Ten months, additional Ten ATM machines would be installed at strategic points within the State.
The issue of metering Customer’s Houses across the State before Water could be dispensed, the GM had this to say, “All our residential houses within Jalingo will be metered and we have started the metering procedure”,
“What we mean by metering is that every household, every of our customers will have a Meter before the Water gets to his or her house”.
According to him, “Under the Metering system, Customers only pay for Water consumed”.
“We want to discourage flat rate billing on our Customers whether Water is consumed or not” he added.
He however, described vandalism and erosion on Water Pipes as some of the constraints of the Agency. Others are desperate Customers and people who in an attempt to get Water at all cost break their pipes.
