Troops recapture Buni Yadi

Nigerian troops, last weekend, recaptured Buni Yadi, a notorious town in Yobe State, where 59 innocent secondary school students were killed in their sleep last year by the terrorists.
The troops also took over Buni Gari town, after they met little resistance at Buni Yadi town, the headquarters of Gujba Local Government Area, as the insurgents were on the run. Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Col Sani Usman, who disclosed this in a statement in Abuja, said that troops were in high spirit as the “cordon and search mopping up operations are on-going in these areas.
“Operations by troops are also continuing to recover the few areas remaining in the hands of terrorists,” the statement said. It would be recalled that precisely on February 25, last year, before Buni Yadi was occupied by terrorists, a federal government college was attacked and its 59 students were massacred. However, as the terrorists continue to lose grounds, they revived their murderous tactic by killing dozens in suicide bomb attack in Maiduguri fish Market with scores injured in the attack.
The attack on Saturday occurred amid the fierce onslaught by the military against the Boko Haram insurgents, who have captured many towns and villages in the North Eastern States. Meanwhile, Minister of State Power, Hon Mohammed Wakil, who is from Borno state, has condemned the reprehensible renewed bombings of civilian targets in Maiduguri while calling on local and international human rights organisations, to document and indict Boko Haram leaders for crime against humanity.
