Ahead of the 2016 governorship election in Edo State, a governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Solomon Edebiri, has described recent court judgements against candidates of the party as expected in a developing nation like Nigeria.
He therefore noted that the PDP would dispense with the issue of godfatherism in electing its representatives in future elections.
Edebiri, who spoke with journalists in Benin said that the adverse judicial judgement against the PDP, would be a thing of the past in the nearest future as the country grow democratically.
“The PDP is going to give the judiciary a chance to do what it wants to do, whether right or wrong. The PDP will continue to respect the judiciary, let their decisions prevail and if at the highest level of Supreme Court, they rule against, we will let it be.
“We are watching. My best advice to President Muhammadu Buhari and his party APC is that, they should concentrate on taking this country economically to the next level, creating jobs for our teeming youths and stop watching anybody” he added.
