President of Building Materials International Market, Ogidi, Idemili Local Government Area of Anambra State, Chief Jude Nwankwo, has said that the traders endorsed Governor Willie Obiano for second tenure because of the numerous things he has done for the market.
Speaking with The Anambra Times in his office after inspecting the N10 million Governor’s project in the markets in the state, Chief Nwankwo said when the construction of the road project government is building for them is completed, it will bring increased business activities in the market.
He said with the road, the price of market stalls and other buildings along the road will significantly appreciate.
Nwankwo said: “Work has started here in earnest and they are constructing the drainage. It is progressing, the traders are happy because the work when completed will ease our doing business here and improve our business. It will allow easy entry of big vehicles into the market.
Consequently, he said the traders of Buildings Materials Market, Ogidi, have vowed to vote for Governor Willie Obiano in the November 18 Governorship election.
He said the decision was also because of what the Governor has been doing for the market,saying that two prominent members of the market, including their immediate past president and Chief Silas Ejeabocha were appointed Special Assistants to the Governor.
The Governor, he said, with the help of the President-General of Amalgamated Markets Traders Association of Anambra State (AMATAS), has provided fire-fighting while for the markets in Ogidi and environs but domiciled in their market, saying that Governor Obiano has done a lot that he deserves their support for him including providing security in the state especially in and round markets.
He also lauded the President – General of Amalgamated Markets Traders Association of Anambra State (AMATAS), Chief Okwudili Ezenwankwo, for his effort to reposition the markets in the state, stressing “he has done a lot for us in the market. He has given direction to market leaders and we are following.
All these have been possible because of peace we have in the market now. These are the gains of peace. Progress is the gain of peace,” he added.
