Swansea boss Francesco Guidolin has admitted he would like Leicester City to win the Premier League.
Guidolin’s side travel to the King Power Stadium on Sunday with Leicester looking to extend their five-point lead over Tottenham before Spurs’ clash with West Brom on Monday.
“I hope for him that Leicester can win the title because they deserve to win,” said Guidolin. “They have been in first place for many weeks and have played very well.
“It is a dream for Leicester, the team and for Claudio – I saw the tears in his eyes after the match against Sunderland.
“Emotion is very important in this period, week by week it is important. He has a lot of experience and tactically, he is very good.”
Swansea themselves are on 40 points, 10 clear of the relegation zone, following last week’s 3-0 defeat to Newcastle and Guidolin insists his side must continue to battle hard until the end of the season.
“We have some tough games because we play teams who have important targets. We still have to face Leicester, Liverpool, West Ham and Manchester City – some big clubs with lots to play for.
“But we must play without fear, with both courage and with character. Sunday is a very important match for us as well.
“It is an important football match for us, like Leicester because the season is not finished, our table is better but we need points.”
Guidolin expects his future to be decided by the end of the season, but insists his priority before then is the team.
