As part of his commitment towards youths development, a young philanthropist, Alhaji Tajudeeen Adefisoye over the weekend donated cash price and sporting materials to the winner and runner-up of the 6-aside football competition sponsored by him in Ondo State.
The event which has about 12 teams competing for the cup over a period of three weeks came to a climax on Sunday, 8th October, 2017 amidst funfare at the Technical College play ground, Odo-Ode, Idanre in Idanre Local Government Area of the state.
The events which attracted an intimidating crowd of over five thousand people has been described as the biggest event in Idanre town in recent time.
Twelve teams competed against one another, with Guider FC topping the table at the initial stage.
The teams were provided with jerseys and all materials needed to have a smooth competition.
Ajisec Fc and Ajidax Fc made the final, however the latter won with 2 to 1 goal.
The cup finalists were provided with soccer booths and cash prizes by Adefisoye.
Speaking to journalists at the event, Adefisoye place the motivation for the program on his resolve to provide positive leadership for his teaming followers by being a beacon of hope to them in order to spur them to be determined, focused and re energized.
He reiterated his commitment to providing necessary opportunities for the Ondo state youths to discover themselves and actualize their dreams.
In his words, Adefisoye said: “my ambition is to develop these young ones by providing positive leadership that will make them self-reliant and self -developed by re-engineering them through self discovery and self actualization”.
Fondly called Small Alhaji by his admirers, the enterpreneur stated that apart from several empowerment programs such as giving schorlaship to indigenous students, granting of soft loans to young business men and women which he has done, promoting sporting activities cannot be overemphasized, putting in mind its efficacy in the total development of man for overall wellness, physical fitness and mental alertness.
Alhaji Adefisoye who sees the event as an opportunity to discover and raise future international footballers, draws motivation from the legendary hockey coach, Herb brooks ( the 1980 winter Olympics) ‘s quote that, “Great moments are born from great opportunity”.
Adefisoye admonish the players in the words of the legendary footballer, Michael Irvin to “look up, get up and don’t give up”.
He congratulated all the players for displaying physical dexterity, athleticism, team spirit, social interaction skills, and fitness of the body, mind and soul.
The Entrepreneur who is chairman of Vata groups and Saydef also announced that all the footballers took part in th final competition would be admitted into Vital Football Academy owned and recently launched by him, promising to support them with all the necessary financial, material and human resources needed for them to pursue and actualize their dreams of becoming professional footballers.
Adefisoye charged all stakeholders to contribute their quota to the development of the nation by focusing on the youth since no Nation can be greater than the quality of her youth.
