Flying Eagles will at the ongoing African Youth Championship (AYC) in Senegal battle Congo today at the Stade Leopold Senghor, in the second match of the group after the 3-1 thrashing of the host country Senegal last Sunday. And the assistant coach of the team, Nduka Ugbade, has warned his boys against complacency saying that Congo will not be an easy nut to crack.

Speaking in a telephone interview, the former Nigeria international stressed the need for the Manu Garba-led squad to brace up for today’s cracker, saying that the Congolese are very tactical and also have a lot of height advantage more than the Nigerian boys.

“I’m happy that we started the opener on a victorious note, 3-1 is not a bad one. I think the boys played very well and we have room of improving our performance in the next game.

“Looking at our next opponent Congo, we would try to overrun them and also we cannot afford to underrate them else we find ourselves in a tight corner,” he said.

“We left Nigeria for a purpose and I do not like making promises, but I know God on our side Nigeria is in the race for glory. We will make the country proud in Africa and at the FIFA U- 20 World Cup. Nigerians at home must continue to pray for us because victory for us is victory for the country.”
