The senior special adviser to Gov. Liyel Imoke of Cross River state on Tourism Development, Mr. Wilfred Usani lauds the efforts of the state government in tourism development in the state.
Usani in an interview with Daily Times on Friday said that the present administration of Gov. Imoke has a vision of taking tourism in Cross River State to the height that it can compete with international standard.
According to him, tourism is very important and can be an alternative to oil in Nigeria and could also serve as a huge employer of labour if given proper attention.
He said Cross River under Gov. Imoke has done a lot to boost tourism development in the state. Adding that the international convention center when completed will further attract more tourist from different parts of the world.
“Convention Centers all over the world are driven by national government but Imoke led administration has taken the project upon itself to build one of the few best Convention Centers you can find around the globe”.
He urge the incoming administration to see tourism sector as a priority by creating the enabling environment for tourism to strive in Nigeria.
