Senate spokesman, confident of APC victory in 2019

Chairman, Senate Standing Committee on Media, Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi is confident that the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC will secure victory at the 2019 general elections.

Sabi stated that APC has performed well and fulfilled most of its promises that made Nigerians voted for the party in 2015 noting that, same feat would still be repeated.

The Niger North Senatorial District Representative seeking re-election said, “now that we are seeking re-election, it is obvious that when we go back to the field we should be able to tell our people what we have done for them.

“On this note, I am very confident that by the special grace of God, I have served my people diligently as their representative to ensure that, dividend of democracy gets into Niger North Senatorial District. Let me say that I am confident that the same feat would be repeated”.

The Senate spokesman who declined comments on the planned impeachment of Senate President, Bukola Saraki, however said APC Senate caucus is now more strengthened to protect and project the interest of the party.

Meanwhile, a Governorship aspirant of the APC from Enugu State has noted that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has never won a free, fair credible election in the state saying that the state has been unfortunate with governors.

Barrister Ejikeme Ugwu stated this at the party national secretariat in Abuja on Tuesday when he came to obtain his nomination and expression of interest forms to indicate his aspiration for the Governorship race in the 2019 general elections.

He said: “For the 16 years rule of the PDP in the state, we have been so unfortunate with governance that none of our elected Governors had shown us the dividends of democracy especially with infrastructural development. Our incumbent cannot boast any infrastructural development in the state.

“I will turn the tide of the state immediately I become Governor. We will turn around the state to enable the people enjoy the dreams of its founding fathers”.

The aspirant noted that come February, 2019, the bad governance of the PDP in the state will be over adding that, “We are ready and prepared to occupy to serve the people and not to be served”.

He commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the good work he is doing especially his fight against corruption, insecurity and revamping of the national economy which is the dividend this administration has rendered.
