Anambra State Chairman of Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Prof. Steve Ibenta says Sen. Victor Umeh has capacity to galvanise Governors and legislators from south east to plan for development of the zone.
Prof. Ibenta, who spoke to the press at the Government House, Awka while felicitating with Umeh on his landslide victory, said the South East Zone has the potential to become the Dubai of Africa.
“But the zone needs the political will and a properly articulated industrial development plan to provide enabling environment for teeming investors and business tycoons from the area.’’
He commended Willie Obiano, who was campaign Director-General for Umeh.
Ibenta notes: “Obiano’s four pillar of development is capable of transforming Anambra State into an industrial economy in the near future, if sustained and supported with complementary economic and financial policies.
The deputy transition committee Chairman for Awka South Local Government Area (LGA), Chief Obiora Okafor described Umeh as a dogged fighter, who was eminently qualified to fight the cause of the Igbos in the Senate.
According to Okafor, who felicitated with Umeh on his deserved electoral victory, APGA as a party, made the right choice by identifying him as its standard bearer.
He expressed confidence that Igbos will gain a lot from Umeh’s entry into the Senate.
