The Police Service Commission (PSC) has vowed to stop all cases of impunity and misconduct among officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force.
This was contained in a statement issued by Mr. Ikechukwu Ani, Head, Press and Public Relations of the commission, and issued to newsmen, on Tuesday, in Abuja.
It said that a Commissioner in the Commission, Justice Olufunlola Adekeye, stated this at a workshop on Police Conduct, in Abuja, on Tuesday.
Adekeye, who is also the commission’s Chairman, Public Complaints Committee on Police, said the Commission would bridge the gap between the public and the Police through holding the Police accountable.
She said that the commission would ensure that policemen carried out their duties in line with laid down rules and regulations.
The chairman said that the committee had received 94 complaints from both the public and the Police since it started sitting in November 2015, adding that the Committee was already treating 23 of such cases.
