My Worries on Assumption of Office, by KANO GOVERNOR-ELECT

Kano State Governor-elect, Engr Abdulahi Ganduje has expressed worries about the financial status of the state which he said is going to be his priority when he takes over.

Speaking with newsmen on how he is going to improve his state’s internally generated revenue, IGR for more fund, Ganduje said most, if not all fraudulent leakages and corrupt tendencies would be checkmated with all seriousness by his administration.

“Most of these fraudulent leakages and possibilities of corrupt utterances in the revenue generation section and other government departments will be checkmated accordingly.

“With that, I am optimistic that we will be able to see light at the end of the tunnel, God willing”, he emphasised.

The Governor elect talked tough on corrupt officials noting that there will be no hiding place in the new administration come 29th May, 2015 and advised the President-elect, General MuhammaduBuhari to probe corrupt cases in all sectors of government with a view to sanitizing the system entirely.

Besides, the synergy between outgoing governor, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and his deputy and governor-elect EngrGanduje has been described as a phenomenon worthy of emulation by politicians.

Ganduje who observed this in Yola, during a chat with news men said this synergy can play a greater role in attaining the yearnings and aspirations of the electorate especially in the performance of state and Federal government.

Engr. Ganduje stressed that, in governance, emphasis on democracy, is always good for the electorate to allow continuation so that those in the corridors of power can complete the already ongoing projects that have direct bearing on the populace as the case with Kano State in particular.

He explained that with the mandate given to him by his people, and the experience garnered from his boss, he will surely do all it takes to provide dividend of democracy to his people, urging them to be patient, supportive and prayer able to his administration.

Responding to a question on his speculated ambition of becoming the next chairman of Nigerian Governors Forum, (NGF) Ganduje said he is a new comer in the fold and needed to gather more experience as substantive governor before dueling into such venture saying: “among us there are old governors who are better off than we J.J.C, but you know our people can speculate issues, so that is my stand on that”. He maintained.
