Labour Party Holds NEC Meeting in Ibadan tomorrow

The historical city of Ibadan is hosting the National Executive Members of the Labour Party which comprises of over 350 members  in Ibadan , Oyo State

The party secretary, Mr Kayode Ajulo in a chat with newsmen said the NEC meeting would  also be an occasion to decide who the party is adopting as the presidential candidate for the coming election.

According to him, the NEC meeting is fixed for Ibadan because the city is the political capital of the South  West where serious political decisions takes place during the era of the late sage Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Dr  Nnamdi Azikwe .

He said further that Premier hotel being one of the undying legacy of Awolowo is the venue of the NEC, expressing optimism that if Awolowo were to be alive today he would be a Labour Party member because he was a Unionist par excellence  while alive.

Ajulo, while speaking on the presidential candidate of the party said, the party elders will decide tomorrow and whoever the party adopted will be supported. “Unlike other party who only adopted and go to bed,Labour Party will give total support to any presidential candidate who will be arrived at  through debate , critical assessment and consideration for  future of development of  Nigeria ‘.
He said that ‘ our congregation on. Ibadan is. Based on historical relevance of the city as the political nerve centre of Nigeria where to decide the political future of Nigeria. Just wait till tomorrow”.
