Police arrest 10 suspects for killing officer in Lagos

A female suspect and nine others have been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for their alleged involvement in the killing of a police Sergeant, Collins Isiabo at Ifako-Ijaye area of Lagos.

Recall that on Wednesday, August 29, at College Road, Ifako Ijaiye, Ogba, Lagos, a police patrol team was attacked by an irate mob during which the Sergeant with service number 260326, was attacked and killed.

The mob were protesting the death of their friend Shina (aka Ishan), who was reportedly injured during a police raid on Oshunkeye Street in Idiagbon community which resulted in his death.

The suspects – Anu Akinola 24, Adewunmi Sulieman 28, Olorunda Michael 21, Omoba Idowu 27, Olarenwaju Hammed 20, Ransom Adewuye 27, Ayo Adeyanju 27, Ige Akanbi 29, Babatunde Rufai 28, Ariyo Elegbede 52 – were paraded on Wednesday by the Lagos State Police Command.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Imohimi Edgal said, “After the killing of the Sergeant, I had promised that the Command will do all it can to unravel and prosecute those behind the dastardly act”.
