Plateau VIO to automate service — Director
Plans are underway to automate the operations of the Plateau State Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO), according to the Director, Mr. John Dayah. Dayah told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Jos that the upgrade was long overdue as the state was losing huge amount of revenue by the day. According to him, the new method will require the training of officers to equip them to discharges their duties more efficiently. He promised to sensitise the public on the upgrade, adding that it would enable VIO personnel to track offenders. The director noted that safety was of priority to the VIO and as such, it could not be compromised it in any way during inspection. “Our officers will not be chasing offenders on the road to risk their lives any longer as it will become very easy to track down offenders on the road,” he said. He commended the effort of the state government for approving the upgrade.
