The Plateau state Government, at its State Executive meeting held recently, arrived at a decision to embark on wide consultation with the people, aimed at enlightening its indigin on the benefit of grazing reserve.
This became imperative as the state has been tensed with protests in recent times, from different group organizations, calling for the cancellation of the policy.
Interacting with Daily Times, the Director, Press and Public Affairs to Governor Simon Lalong, Emmanuel Nanle, said that “we are embarking on expansion of consultation with the people, to Sensitise them on the benefit of the programme and also consulting with stakeholders on the establishment of ranches to address farmers/herders clashes”, he said
However, he dismissed the rumor making the rounds that the state government has suspended the federal government Planned National Policy on grazing reserve.

Meanwhile, the immediate past Governor of Plateau state and Senator representing Plateau north in the National Assembly, Jonah Jang, had recently kicked against the grazing reserve bill.
