Osinowo’s home LG celebrates Senator’s passage

Thoe legislative arm of the home council of the late Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Adebayo Osinowo, Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos State, has rolled out the drums to celebrate him.

It was deluge of tributes and eulogies at the special plenary session organised by the legislative arm of the council in honour of the memory of the late distinguished Senator who represented them before his untimely death on June 15, 2020.

At the special plenary session held at the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Legislative Chamber of Kosofe Local Government, lawmakers, political and community leaders came out to pay glowing tributes to the late distinguished Lawmaker who they said had touched their lives in one way or another.

Those who took turns to pay tributes to the late four-time member of the Lagos State House of Assembly include the Leader of the House, Hon. Olumide County (representing Mende ward E), Hon. Ibraheem Bakare Olawale representing Ward C Araromi/Ifako, Hon. Idowu Oluloro representing Anthony Ward D, Hon. Sunday Omofojoye representing Oworoshoki Ward B, Hon. Ismail aka Agali Representing ward F Ojota and Hon. Bolaji Kareem representing Ward G Ogudu.

Others are APC Kosofe LGA Chairman, Alhaji Kehinde Bello, Hon. Lanre Carew, Kosofe CDC Chairman, Hon. Segun Babatunde, Hon. Olayinka Rabiu, MBS Arole, Mrs Moritiwon and Mr. Samuel Omowo.

The Leader of the House, Hon. Olumide County who opened the floodgate of tributes described the late distinguished Senator as a Leader who was very humble, loyal and sincere to his teeming followers.

He said the distinguished lawmaker once astonished him with his great humility when he attended the naming of his daughter and son even when he had become a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

He explained that Sen. Osinowo had so much trust and confidence in him to the extent that when some people told him that Olumide County and Alh. Kehinde Bello were behind the loss the party suffered at Mende during an election, he said Sen. Osinowo in reply said he had so much confidence and trust in Alhaji Bello and him that they could never betray him.

He added that Sen. Osinowo was very true to his words anytime he made promises and was responsible for his political ascendancy.

The Deputy Leader of the house, Hon. Ismail Muibi aka Agali on his own said he would never forget the late lawmaker for the great things he did for him in regards to his health and political carrier.

He disclosed that the late Senator Osinowo assisted him a lot for APC councillorship primary election and also saved his life when he was critically ill at Jolad Hospital.

His words: “During the primary election I will never forget the distinguished Senator. In regards to my health, I nearly died on April 13. He rushed to Jolad. When he saw me he removed his glasses and called me: ‘Agali’. I told him I would die tomorrow. He said ‘no you wouldn’t, even those who have HIV /AIDS are no longer dying’. And everybody in the hall started laughing. Before he left the ward, he gave everybody N50,000 each.”

He therefore urged everyone to follow in his footsteps and continue with the legacy of the late distinguished Senator, stressing that if at the end of his life God asks him how he spent his life he would reply that he spent it successfully with Senator Bayo Osinowo.

Other members of the legislative arm of the council including, Chief Whip of the House, Hon. Ibrahim Bakare Olawale Hon. Idowu Oluloro, Hon. Bolaji Kareem, Hon. Sunday Omofojoye, Alhaji Kehinde Bello, Hon. Lanre Carew among others took time to speak on how the late Senator assisted them in their personal and political careers.

The CDC chairman of Kosofe Local Government Area, Hon. Segun Babatunde also had good things to say about the late Senator, just as a grassroots political leader and former Ward G chairman, Elder Samuel Omowo also paid tribute to the late Senator

The special plenary session was graced by Kosofe Local Government chairman, Hon. Afolabi Sofola, Hon. Jumoke Animahun, while Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye and Hon. Sanni Okanlawon member Representing Kosofe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and Kosofe 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly respectively were represented by their political Aides.
