The All Progressives Congress (APC), in Ondo State, has said that the Deputy-Governor, Alhaji Lasisi Oluboyo, was only occupying the position on temporary basis as all his activities would soon be declared null and void by a competent court of law.
The party, however, said that the court of competent jurisdiction would declare Alhaji Ali Olanusi, the former state Deputy-Governor, as the authentic occupier of the office when the time was ripe.
The state party’s Publicity Secretary, Omo’baAbayomiAdesanya, told journalists, on Sunday, in Akure, the state capital, that he was optimistic that Olanusi would be restored to his position by a court of competent jurisdiction.
Adesanya said that the impeachment of Olanusi was illegal, and negated Section 188 (2) (b) of the 199 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended.
He added that the impeachment of Olanusi couldn’t stand the test of time.
“It is crystal clear, even to a lay man that, Olanusi’s forced removal from office is illegal, an affront to the spirit and letters of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, with reference to Section 188, as amended, and cannot stand the test of time. It is very certain, as sun rise, that Baba will regain his seat back,” a confident Adesanya said.
The party cautioned Oluboyo to desist from receiving any entitlement reserved for the office of the Deputy-Governor, as he would refund such money he collected.
“In lieu of this, our candid advice to the illegal occupant of the office of the Deputy- Governor of Ondo State, our brother, Mr. LaisisiOluboyo, is that he desist from receiving any entitlement reserved for the office of the Deputy Governor, as he will certainly refund all the monies and entitlements collected during the period he holds that office to the government coffers, whenever a court of competent jurisdiction rules and nullifies Ali Olanusi’s removal. All the aides appointed by him (Oluboyo) are also advice accordingly,” the image-maker said.
