Olusola Oke, the governorship candidate of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) in Ondo State has criticised the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for discrediting its campaign tour to Ondo East.
Oke who spoke on Wednesday in a statement issued and obtained by Daily Times from his Head of Campaign Committee on Media and Publicity, Kolawole Olabisi, in Akure, said the APC should face its divided house rather than pock-nosing into its campaign activities.
Ade Adetimehin, the Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had on Tuesday childish Mr. Oke for “shedding tears” over the deplorable road network in Ondo East during his campaign tour to the local community.
But, Mr. Oke in his response attack the APC and wondered why the party which is an opposition in the state would be quick to reply instead of the incumbent government of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defending itself.
“Isn’t it a shame that a party which has the serious business of campaign on its hands could start bellyaching on the business of another person?
“One would have expected the State Government who had neglected the roads networks across the State in the past seven and a half years to be the one attempting to defend itself and definitely not the APC.
“What this has shown is that Olusola Oke is their problem because he has the overwhelming support of the people of the State as shown from the legions of members of the APC and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who have been flocking into our Party, the AD in the last few day” he said.
However, the Alliance for Democracy (AD) Flag bearer advised the APC to face its internal crisis that is bedeviling the party rather than joining the bandwagon in the politicking of the state.
Oke expressed optimism that he would form the next government in Ondo State by February 2017 with the support of the people who are waiting to exercise their franchise in the November guber Poll.
“I want our people to vote overwhelmingly for the Alliance for Democracy in the coming election as we will bring back the lost glory of Ondo State in all ramifications” Oke said.
He, however, tasked the people of the state to be wary of the antics of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with less than a month to the guber election.
