Ogun Workers Embark On Warning Strike

Public servants in Ogun state, Southwest Nigeria, under the auspices of the Joint National Public Service Negotiating Council have embarked upon a three day warning strike over the alleged non remittance of co-operative deductions by the state government to different cooperative societies

A visit to the governor’s office located at Oke Mosan in Abeokuta, the state capital revealed that workers absented themselves from their duty posts in compliance with the directives of the Negotiating Council

In response to the development, the State Head of Service, Mrs. Modupe Adekunle, appealed to the striking workers to show understanding, especially in the face of the dwindling revenue from federation accounts promising that steps are being taking by government to pay the deductions

Mrs. Adekunle also assured the workers of government’s positive response to this development, but was quick to seek for understanding.
