Ogun police arrest fraudster with camouflage, charms

The Ogun state police command has arrested and charged to court some suspected fraudsters at a shrine in Meesan Ota, in Ado Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun state, with a locally made gun, figurines, police camouflage cap and charms.

The suspects, who were arrested by police detectives attached to Ota Division of the command was said to have defrauded one Mr. Agboola of Humba Village, Abuja, of N5,000,000 (Five Million naira) between September and December 2015.

In a release signed by the Ogun state command of Nigeria Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the suspects were arrested on the 2nd January at different locations within Ota, when the complainant reported the criminal act of obtaining money under false presence against the trio of Deji, Charity Ebele, and Tunde Dudu, who actually perpetrated the act.

The Divisional Police Officer in Ota Division, who personally supervised the investigation, visited the so-called shrine where a locally made gun, figurines, assorted charms, police camouflage cap etc, were recovered from the suspects.

The police command has reliable evidence to prosecute them and they have been charged to court with conspiracy, unlawful possession of fire arms and police uniform, obtaining money under false presence etc, on Tuesday, 5th January, 2016, in Ota.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Abdulmajid Ali has again warned criminals to steer clear of Ogun state as the state will be made hot for them and their agents. He affirmed his zero tolerance for criminal activities and cultism as anyone caught will be made to face full wrath of the law.
