A gale of suspension is currently rocking the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka.
Already five Lecturers have been suspended following their involvements in examination malpractice and gross misconduct.
According to a news bulletin from the office of Public Relations Officer and Information management Dr. EMMa Ojukwu, the lecturers were found guilty of awarding marks and giving examination Scores to students who either failed or did not sit for examination.
The suspension was as a result of a report submitted to the management of the institution by a 6_man investigation Committee on sharp practices.
The Lectures include Dr. Omuku Patrick .E of Pure and Industrial Chemistry, Dr. T. C. Alumona of Electronics and Computer Engineering, and Ken Akpado of Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering .
Also Dr. E. N. Ifeagwu and Dr. Anthony Isizoh of Electronics and Computer Engineering department.
According to the bulletin the suspended lecturers would be on suspension for three months during which they would be placed on half salary pending the outcome of the Senior Staff Disciplinary Committee’s report.
