The Federal Government and France, on Wednesday, agreed to enter into a bilateral agreement to develop Science and Technology in the two countries with major focus on forming a formidable force to fight Boko Haram and other insurgencies terrorising the globe.
Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, while receiving the French Ambassador to Nigeria, Deny’s Gauer said the two countries have had a lasting cordial relationship, and added that he was happy with the proposal for a bilateral agreement in the area of Science and technology development which the French government has made.
Dr. Onu disclosed that the two countries already have cooperation in the area of Space management and would encourage every bilateral agreement that enhances development, particularly in the area of poverty eradication in Nigeria which is President Buhari’s priority.
He argued that the Buhari administration has enormously achieved in the area of security as the coming of his administration has changed the tide in fighting insurgency. He maintained that Boko Haram was on rampage before the birth of this administration but the story is now different.
“This ministry is determined to make sure that the promises of Mr. President are actualized and whatever we will do to make it happen we will not hesitate” the Minister said.
