The Bauchi State Governor, Mallam Isa Yuguda, has relieved a massive number of his political aides from their positions on Monday, retaining only a few.
The dismissal which was contained in a statement by the Permanent Secretary, Political Affairs, Government House, Hashimu Yakubu, on behalf of the Secretary to the State Government, stated that the sacking of all Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and Personal Assistants was with immediate effect.
Although, the number of aides dismissed was not disclosed in the government statement, sources say that may be more than 2, 000.
The statement read, “The Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Mallam Isa Yuguda, has approved the disengagement of all Special Advisers (with the exception of the Special Adviser, Due Process).
“Also, all Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants and Personal Assistants (with the exception of those who work directly under His Excellency the Executive Governor or the Deputy Governor).”
According to the statement, all those affected are requested to hand over government property in their possession (if any) to the heads of organisations where they served.
Yuguda thanked the sacked political aides for their contributions to the development of Bauchi State and wished them well in their future endevours.
