Traditional rulers in Kwara State, on Monday, asked President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene in what they called “political trial of the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki.”
At the end of their meeting in Ilorin, the state capital, the monarchs described the ongoing trial of Saraki at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) as nothing but “political vendetta and persecution of our son”.
They said Buhari’s intervention was necessary to save the All Progressives Congress (APC) from being plunged into unnecessary crisis.
The monarchs spoke under the aegis of the Forum of Ilorin Emirate Magajis and Alanguas. They noted in a statement signed by Alajagusi,Alhaji Abdulwahab Sanni (Chairman)and the Magaji Nda of Ilorin , Alhaji Salihu Woru Mohammad (Secretary) that the APC “is already enmeshed in leadership crisis as a result of the treatment being meted to Saraki”.
