Governor of Imo State, Chief Rochas Okorocha has said that he received the news of the death of Chief Ojo Madukwe and Prof. Elechi Amadi with rude shock and deep concern.
Okorocha said that the two illustrious Igbo sons had not only lived a fulfilled lives in their chosen careers, but had made outstanding contributions to the unity and progress of the country.
He regretted that the two prominent Nigerians died at a time when the country and the younger generation needed most their experiences, counseling and advice.
The governor, who spoke through his media aide, Mr. Sam Onwuemeodo said the impact Prof. Elechi Amadi had made in the academic world and the interesting impact Ojo Madukwe made in the politics of the country, would remain evergreen in the minds of Nigerians, stressing that the duo had paid their dues in all ramifications.
He urged the family members of the two dead Statesmen to take heart and ensure the maintenance of the legacies they had left behind.
