Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Aisha Jummai Alhassan following her recent comments on President Muhammadu Buhari and her choice for 2019 presidential candidate has been seen in a closed-door meeting at the APC headquarters in Abuja.
Alhassan who arrived at the national secretariat of the APC at about 1:45pm Thursday was ushered into the office of the National Chairman, Chief John Odigie Oyegun with the NWC of the party for a grilling exercise.
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Thursday, grilled the minister who had said that she would support former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for president in 2019 even if President Buhari is seeking reelection.
Her declaration has since generated mixed reactions within the party with some members of the APC, like the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai, who insisted that Alhassan was never loyal to Buhari.
The ruling party had been slow in acting on the matter especially as the Buhari led presidency is yet to take a position on whether to punish the minister or not.
But the leadership of the party did not disclose to journalists the details of the meeting with Alhassan which lasted for several hours.
The Daily Times recalls that on Wednesday, the minister was the centre of attention before the federal executive council meeting started at the presidential villa, Abuja.
