All Progressive Congress( APC) Niger state on Monday uncovered the plan by Niger State government to recruit more workers to force the incoming government rationalize the work force in the State.
The Government aim of embarking on the mass recruitment of workers is to leave behind large workforce that will weigh down the next administration.
APC spokesman Mr Jonathan Vatsa in a press statement said “We receive with shock the grand plan of the outgoing government which we consider wicked, callous and selfish; this has further shown that he has no interest of the state and that of the entire workers of Niger state at heart.
“We therefore want to bring it to the notice of all Nigerlites that the plan of the out- going government is to create fresh troubles apart from the ones earlier caused by mismanagement.”
The statement also read,” We are also surprise that the governor has come up with the idea of recruiting for one University of Education in Minna , the question is that where are the structures for the University of Education beyond hiding under the TERTFUND projects of the College Of Education Minna.”
Reacting to the allegations the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Aliyu, Mr. Israel Ebije described APC claim as spurious, shameful and gross misplacement of agenda. He said it is regrettable they have decided to embark on errand of cheap blackmail to veil their synister agenda against the people.
Ebije therefore alleged that the incoming APC led administration intends to reduce workforce in the state civil service. He intimated that the state civil servants must prepare for hard times adding that mass retrenchment looms.
The spokesman of the governor maintained that the establishment of the the new university is done in the best interest of the state and the entire North. He said the North has deficit of qualified teachers, saying the new university will set the pace in grooming teachers in the region and beyond.
Ebije therefore alert the incoming governor Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello to be mindful of self based politicians around him who do not have the interest of Nigerlites at heart.
