A civil society organisation, Think Nigeria First Initiative (TNFI), has said that the All Progressive Congress (APC) led government of President Muhammadu Buhari’s performance since inception in May, 2015, was a step in the right direction calling on all the people of the country to give it their support, especially in the fight against corruption and injustice in the land.

The Director-General of the group, Alhaji Abubakar Tsanni, addressing a world press briefing tagged: “We can Fix Nigeria’s problems with National Consciousness”, at the weekend, in Abuja, to mark its inauguration, said that the group was aimed at stirring the culture of discipline among Nigerians to make them imbibe the spirit of national consciousness in the fight against insurgency, corruption, banditry and other vices that have continued to portray the country in bad light.

Tsanni said that the body would work alongside government to instill a sense of national consciousness in the minds of Nigerians and would support Buhari in the fight against corruption in the country.

He said: “We are convinced that we will continue to flounder in the woods until we have succeeded in building a national consciousness among all the citizens of Nigeria. It is with sincere focus of addressing this national failing that the Think Nigeria First Initiative has come into being. To be clear, the goal of this organisation is to help build a strong sense of nationalism among all Nigerians”.

“Considering where this country is coming from, the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration is progressing in the right direction. As Nigerians across the country have testified, the electricity situation, security and fuel supply has improved. We have also seen that the days of rampant and blatant impunity by public officials are over.”

The TNFI boss said that he was convinced the president’s anti-corruption war would yield tangible results for the Nigerian society, calling on Nigerians to support Mr. President’s desire to building a new Nigeria.
