The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on Sunday, inaugurated a 22-man committee to midwife the annual traditional programme for the celebration of Eid-el fitri at end of Ramadan.
The monarch in his remark said the constitution of the Committee was to further enhance efficiency before, during and after the celebration.
He added that the body was to ensure effectiveness as well as promote unity in the emirate during the holy month and beyond.
Sulu-Gambari charged the Committee to fashion out measure that would serve as platform for promoting the cultural heritage of the Ilorin emirate in accordance with the content of the glorious Qur’an
The monarch urged the Committee to create time and network with the indigenes of the Ilorin emirate to make the celebration meaningful and memorable.
The royal majesty urged indigenes to support the committee in its mandate to create platform of unity, growth and progress for the community
In his response, the Chairman of the Committee, Alhaji Ayo Garba, who is an lslamic Cleric, pledged the readiness of the committee to deliver on the mandate given to them by the monarch.
