NDE Trains 50 Graduates in Anambra.


The Director-General of National Directorate of Employment , NDE, Mallam Abubakar Mohammed, has called on unemployed Nigerian youths to avail themselves of the opportunity provided by the directorate for the unemployed youths in the country.

Mallam Mohammed who spoke on Thursday at City Sports Club, Amawbia during the opening ceremony of the NDE-Enterprises and Finance Couselling Clinic for unemployed graduates in Anambra State, said that most of the developed nations of the world did not achieve prosperity because of large corporations but through the small scale businesses, which provided job opportunities for the majority of their populace.

The director-general whose address was read by the Anambra State Coordinator, Mr. Mike Mbata, said that it was against this back-drop that the directorate encourages the formation of small businesses, which he said have the potential to grow into big businesses, depending on the commitment of the owners.

He said the purpose of the training was to ensure among others, that they discover their great potentials, how to write bankable feasibility studies and expose them to sources of funding facilities.

In her address, the small scale enterprises department of the directorate, Mrs Herietta Achigbu, which was presented by, Mrs Chikaodili Ike, urged the participants not to allow themselves to be distracted so that they avail themselves of the maximum benefit from the programme.

The Chairman of Awka South Local Government, Prince Azubuike Iloh,who was represented by the Secretary of the Local Government, Mr.Sidney Onyiriuka, advised the youths to be committed and be serious minded so as to get something out of the training.

About 50 unemployed graduates are attending the training which will focus on how to establish an enterprise, how to manage their businesses, how to sustain and manage businesses, how to avoid business failure, how to write a feasibility study among others.
