The traditional ruler of Obbo Ile town in Kwara State, Oba Rufus Oluwasegun Adebayo, has urged politicians to emulate the humanitarian gestures of Kwara State Labour Party (LP) gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Mike Omotosho.
He said this while receiving the LP campaign team who paid him a courtesy visit at his palace at Obbo Ile. The monarch stated that the humanitarian and community empowerment initiatives of Omotosho are worthy of emulation by every politician and prominent community citizen. While recalling some of the programmes of the Mike Omotosho Foundation like training of unemployed graduates, scholarship scheme for indigent students, vocational training and micro credit scheme for women, and free medical mission for the community, he said if other prominent citizens and politicians embarked on such initiatives the community would be the better for it.
Omotosho said that the purpose of the visit was to receive the blessings of the monarch and also find out the needs of the community so they can be included in the party’s rural development plan for the state. The monarch thanked the LP candidate for the visit and prayed for his success at the polls.
