Nigerians must learn to appreciate the contributions of individuals, especially political office holders who work hard at their duty post trying not only to bring their wealth of experience to bear on their duties but also go out of their way to ensure that things are done right at all times.
These were the views of two prominent Nigerians while reacting to comments by some persons to the present health challenge of the Chief of Staff to President Muhamadu Buhari, Mallam Abba Kyari who is currently recovering from the Coronavirus pandemic, Covid-19 infection.
Wondering why some persons will wish a man who was on a mission to represent the President in far away Germany to negotiate a power deal on behalf of the country before contracting the virus evil, a cleric, security expert and politician, Mr James Bassey and a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon Ali Gambo, in a joint press statement said Kyari’s experience in public and private sector qualifies him to stand tall on behalf of Nigeria at any international negotiation.
They noted that President Buhari knows the worth of Abba Kyari and so would not hesitate to send him to stand in for him in any international negotiation on behalf of the country, knowing that the Chief of Staff can stand his own among any group of persons, noting that Kyari has not been known to bring embarrassment to the nation at any time.
While condemning the several orchestrated insults and fake news against Kyrai inspite of the great jobs and selfless service he is doing for Mr President and the nation, the duo said that such act, by those they described as enemies of the country was discouraging and capable of causing bad blood and distraction for those who mean well for the country, especially at a time like the country is facing now.
Wondering what the detractors are trying to achieve by their actions, the statement noted that, Abba Kyrai went on a national engagement on behalf of his principal, the President, to Germany to discuss with Siemens, an internationally acclaimed energy company, for the improvement of power projects which the nation has suffered so much having spent billions without anything to show over the years.
“The trip to Germany was in the overall interest of all Nigerians, we expect commendation instead of generating fake news, he should be encouraged and prayed for, especially when he became sick as a result of the visit.
“It is our general belief that some powerful people may be afraid of the achievements of Kyari, hence they must do everything to rubbish him, however it is our prayers that he be in God’s hands, and he is recovering and soon the enemies will be put to shame,” they said, while urging the President and the people of Nigeria to ignore all the fake news against Kyari, saying all is well with him and his family.
The duo further thanked President Buhari for his for quick intervention on the issue of conoravirus in the country, advising the people to ignore all the fake news against Kyrai, saying all is well with him.
