Jonathan Leads Buhari, Others in Results from Eight States FCT

The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) got a marginal lead over the All Progressives Congress (APC) as official results of last weekend’s presidential election begin to trickle in.

Released on Monday afternoon, the results showed incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan leading his main challenger, Major General Muhammadu Buhari of the APC, by 19,756  votes.

General Buhari had a total of 2,302,978 votes, while Jonathan polled 2, 322,734.

More results will be released by the commission at 8pm local time.
The details of the results from the states so far released are:
EKITI State:  APC – 120, 331.
PDP – 176, 466.

OGUN: APC – 308, 290
PDP – 207, 950.

ENUGU: APC – 14, 157.
PDP – 553, 003

KOGI: APC – 264, 851.
PDP – 149, 987

OSUN: APC – 383, 603.
PDP – 249, 929

ONDO: APC – 299, 889.
PDP – 251, 368

FCT:  APC – 146, 399.
PDP – 157, 195

OYO:  APC – 528, 620.
PDP – 303, 376

NASARAWA: APC – 236, 838.
PDP – 273, 460.

While the result of the presidential election in Ekiti State was announced by the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Nigeria, Akure, who is the State Collation Officer, Professor Adebiyi Daramola, who was for OGUN was presented by Prof. Duro Oni, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Management Services of the University of Lagos.
The result from Enugu State was announced by Prof. Hillary Edoga, the Vice Chancellor of Michael Opara University of Agriculture, while the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Prof. M. U Adigwu presented that of Kogi State.
Professor Isaac Asuzu, the VC of Federal University, Oye Ekiti announced the result from Osun, with Prof. Olusola Oyewole, the VC of Federal University of Agriculture announcing result from Ondo State.
Prof Michael Faborode,  the immediate past VC of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, announced the result of the presidential election from the Federal Capital Territory, while that of Oyo State was announced by Prof. Ayobami Salami, DVC, Academics, Obafemi Awolowo University.
The result the election in Nasarawa was announced by the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lokoja, Professor Abdulmumuni Rafindadi.
Those that announced the results were the State Collating Officers from the respective States.
Before the commencement of the presentation of the results from the states at the International Conference Centre, which is the venue of the collation, the agents of 14 political parties were formally introduced and they all took their seats in the front row, opposite the high table where the Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC! Professor Attahiru Jega and the other National Commissioners sat.
