Inkblot and Film One team up for ‘New Money’ movie

Known for their crowd-pleasing blockbuster collaborations – The Wedding Party Series and My Wife and I – Inkblot Productions and FilmOne Production and Distribution have teamed up yet again for New Money

New Money tells a story of a struggling young designer Toun Odumosu (Jemima Osunde) whose life changes following the death of an absentee tycoon father (Kalu Ikeagwu) who left her to fill his shoes. The film is a comedy drama about a young girl coming to terms with newfound riches and follows her journey as she tries to successfully merge her newfound wealth with her old life.

Directed by Tope Oshin (Shuga, Tinsel and Journey to Self) and written by Chinaza Onuzo (The Arbitration, My Wife and I, The Wedding Party 2), New Money boasts of a stellar cast led by Jemima Osunde, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Kate Henshaw, Dakore Egbuson, Wale Ojo and Folarin “Falz” Falana.

The star studded film also features Femi Branch, Osas Ighodaro, Wofaifada, Daniel Etim Effiong, Adeolu Adefarasin, Kalu Ikeagwu and Bikiya Graham-Douglas.
“Having successfully worked with FilmOne in the past, we knew that they were the right partner to work with to bring this exciting story to the Nigerian audiences” says Chinaza Onuzo, one of the founding partners at Inkblot says

“With over a billion naira in box office from our previous collaborations, we were very excited to work with Inkblot again,” says Moses Babatope, the Chief Operating Officer of Film One, “ we continue to believe that collaboration is the secret weapon in the Nigerian film industry and we are happy that we continue to demonstrate this.”

New Money will mark the forth collaboration between these two industry powerhouses and will be released in cinemas across Nigeria on March 23 2018.
Their previous collaborations, The Wedding Party Series (December 2016 and December 2017) and My Wife and I (August 2017) were top Nollywood earners at the box office.
