In line with its objective of developing grassroots football, the Ikeja Divisional Football Association (IKJDFA), has decided to revive the Manufacturers Cup.
The competition is experiencing a rebirth after a decade of inactivity and no fewer than 16 teams are expected to compete in the two-week event.
Chairman of IKJDFA, Rafiu Alagbe Taiwo, expressed satisfaction with the return of the competition.
“We’re proud to revive the competition. This is a competition that produced stars like Joseph Dosu, Gabriel Okolosi and current Golden Eaglets coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, all from Nigerlux FC.
“Others like Christopher Edem and Gideon Imagbudu also started their football with the Manufacturers Cup. It’s an opportunity for coaches to scout for players and I’m also impressed with the registration of teams,” he stated.
All matches for the competition will be played at the Agege Stadium and the final is slated for Saturday, December 19, 2015.
