Idimogu declares interest for 2nd term, unveils campaign slogan

Honourable Jude Emeka Idimogu, the lawmaker representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 02 at the Lagos House of Assembly has made public his interest to run for second term in 2019.

Idimogu made this revelation at a meeting with Ndigbo and other interest groups in his constituency and unveiling of Abundance One More Time, his political slogan at Triple-T, Ejigbo in Lagos State.

He said that the gathering was to inform the people of his intention to run for a second time, adding “I have told my people especially my Igbo brothers and sisters that live in my constituency that the journey has just commenced at least I want to go one more time, and that is the reason why I gathered them today, and with my Yoruba brothers and sisters too that I want to serve them better.

And I want to appreciate them for the one they have done for me and that I am interested and I want to run again.”

On what gave him the courage to declare interest for the second term, he mentioned the pedestrian Bridge construction at Toyota Bus stop which is being done by Governor Akinwumi Ambode.

“And I want to use this medium to thank the Asiwaju of Yoruba land, the Jagaban of Nigeria, he is a great leader, he has spoken to me. May God bless him. Ambode has been there.

They have been supporting me and not just supporting me, but supporting the cause of non-indigenes, not just Igbo in my constituency and Lagos in general.

I must tell you, I am a proud APC member, there is no doubt about that, but you see charity, they say, begins from home. I need to identify with my people whom I have been doing right from day one,” Idimogu said.

Still on his achievements, he said that all the inner roads that come out from his constituency to join the Airport Road have been mapped out for rehabilitation, and also there are buses called Abundance which is an empowerment programme for his community.

“Apart from that, you can always reach me, accessibility. Since I won the election, I have always lived here. When they have issues, problems, I pay for JAMB Forms, I pay school fees for the less privileged, house rent, I pay for GCE Form, I have been giving out things; then I also go to the hospitals to visit patients in the General Hospital. The idea is that I am out to serve humanity, serve my people.”

Idimogu who is married to an Ogun State born lady, appealed to members of his constituency to give him their support, adding that has also gone round to sensitise the constituents on the need to register with the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) in order to be eligible to vote.

Chairman of the forum, Chief Uche Nwosu while eulogising Idimogu, said Ndigbo should come out en mass to support him for second tenure.

“We called him to join APC, so we cannot abandon him and on people’s view of Buhari, it would not affect APC in Lagos State. We have a leader and he is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the great leader.”

Eze (Dr.) Christian Nwachukwu, Eze Ndigbo of Lagos, who was also at the meeting, said: “We are here to support our illustrious son, whom God made to be in the House of Assembly Lagos State.

Today is a special day, and we have resolved that all Ndigbo in this constituency in unison will give him a second time. That is what we have come to discuss. The communities, constituencies, men and women, friends of Ndigbo should rally round and support Hon. Jude Idimogu.

Nwachukwu said he would do his best to ensure that Idimogu is returned for the second time including grassroots, state mobilisation and all that it will take to ensure that the party leaders give him the nod to go for a second term.

“This is what we should stand for, we request, plead and appeal that he is returned in 2019; that the Igbos should be given one more time; that is why we are here.

“We are the foot soldiers of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Jagaban of Lagos and he said anywhere the Igbos are in majority they should be allowed to field their candidate. So Jude is our candidate, he is the best candidate and we have to support him,” Eze Nwachukwu disclosed.
