As Amuzukwu community of Umuahia North rolls out the drums to adopt the member representing them in Abia House of Assembly, Chinedu Orji and Sen. T. A. Orji, Hon. Orji has vowed to eliminate go-betweens in his efforts to develop communities in his constituency.
Hon. Orji who represents Umuahia Central state Constituency in Abia State House of Assembly, made this vow at the Umuwaya Mbara village square of Amuzukwu Autonomous Community, when the community adopted him, Sen. Orji and Governor Ikpeazu for a second term, disclosed that the use of middlemen in dealing with communities have failed him and the Senator representing Abia Central at the National Assembly, Sen. T. A. Orji, “hence the anger of some communities on me and on the senator”.
Towards curbing this shortchanging by the go-betweens he said, he is now using the money to work directly for the people, stating “What we now do is that we go directly to the communities and when we want to do anything for them, we will find their sons who will directly be given the work to do.
“We are no longer using contractors in what are doing”, he said and pledged “we will be dealing directly touch”, assuring also “we will do more for Amuzukwu with three more projects that will directly affect the people”.
While assuring Amuzukwu people that he will be known and remembered by what he has done for them, called for votes for all that vie for any political position under the People’s Democratic Party, PDP including himself, Sen. T. A. Orji, the state Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu and “whoever will be for the Federal House of Representatives”.
He urged the people to avoid the mistake they made before, stating “PDP does not collect any PVCs from anybody, but all we do is to sensitize you”.
According to him, in the Northern part of the country, people register in their millions and in the south west, “it is also PVC issue. But here in the south east, it is a different story. If you do not get your PVCs, I will not vie again”.
“I have repented and will not shower money again but will do these projects that will make people happy”, he said stating that he wants to make public schools in his constituency to be better than private schools in the area.
He pledged to assist Amuzukwu women in their efforts to deck a community hall they are building.
In his speech, the royal father of Amuzukwu, Eze John Ibezim said Hon. Orji has tried and done much for his Amuzukwu people, urging him the young lawmaker to always let people know much of what he has done and pledged the support of his community, which he said is a peaceful one in Umuahia North.

While listing out some of the achievements of Hon. Chinedu , he equated him with great sons of Ibeku in the like of late Major General JTU Aguiyi-Ironsi and the immediate past governor of the state and now Senator representing Abia Central at the National Assembly, Sen. T. A. Orji.
