As the general elections draws near, the Oyo state police command under CP Mohammed Katsina at the weekend signs peace accord with all political parties and candidates to ensure hitch free election.
The meeting which took place at the Oyo Area command office in Durbar Oyo.
had members and candidates of PDP, Accord, APC,SDP and APC in attendance.
Speaking at the event, the CP who was represented by the Deputy commissioner of Police, Musa Kimo appreciated the large turn-out saying, it shows all political parties cherish and clamour for peace before, during and after election.
“Your presence here confirm your readiness to embrace peace and to give peace a place to stay in our polity”
While urging them to embrace peace and work the talk, he then wish all he members of the political parties present all the very best in the coming general elections.
Earlier in his speech, Oyo area commander ACP Wale Olokode said the reason the command organised the peace agreement signing for political party is to ensure peace reign in different communities in the state.
He advised politicians not to shed blood because welfare and security of the people should be there primary assignment.
“There shouldn’t be bloodshed, you are to see to the welfare and security of the electorate because they left comfort of their homes to come out in other to vote for you, so don’t let them have regret of coming out to vote”
In the same vein, while in Ogbomosho the CP met with different political parties at the Soun Town Hall, urging them to embrace peace and be a good player.
In his speech, the ACP ogbomosho Sylvester Chinedu says the future of Nigeria depends on this coming election.
He said the peace accord is important because it makes political parties to be on their toes and liable if there is breach of peace during and after elections.
He then concluded that the signing of the peace accord makes candidates and political indulge in doing what is right.
