The Ondo state Deputy Governor, Ali Olanusi has been impeached by the lawmakers of the House of Assembly.
Olanusi was impeached by 22 out of the 26 lawmakers over 7 allegations of gross misconduct.
The majority leader of the Assembly, Hon. Ifedayo Akinsoyinu moved the motion of the impeachment and was seconded by the House Deputy majority leader, Hon. Oyebo Aladetan.
Olanusi was impeached after the 7-man panel chaired by Retired Chief Magistrate, Olatunji Adeniyan submitted the outcome of the report of its investigation to the Assembly.
The panel found the Deputy Governor guilty of the 7 allegations of the gross misconduct levelled against him.
Subsequently, the Speaker of the House, Hon. Jumoke Akindele has ordered for the confiscation of all government properties in care of the Deputy Governor, and should be submitted to the office of the Permanent Secretary.
