A social political campaign group for the re -election of the Bayelsa state governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson, the Dickson Support Movement, on Sunday, slammed the Chairman of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the state, Chief Remember Ogbe and other former aides of the state government for alleged signs of disloyalty and defection into the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to the group, the recent show of disloyalty and decision to defect into APC by former aides to the governor is condemnable and signs of breach of trust by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ‎in the state.

Among those accused of alleged disloyalty include the Chairman of the Southern ‎Ijaw Local Council, Chief Remember Ogbe and the Special Adviser to the governor on AIDS/HIV campaign, former Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Furoebi Akene and the Chairman of the State Action Committee on AIDS (SACA), Dr. Temple Iluma.

The group, Dickson Support Movement, in a statement issued on Sunday by the State Coordinator, Comrade Tarilayefa Beinabi, said the intelligence unit of the Governor Dickson’s campaign organisation has discovered the lacklustre and disloyalty attitude of the identified aides to the re-election bid of Governor Seriake Dickson.

According to the group, “the cross carpeting attitude of some appointees of the Governor Seriake Dickson’s Restoration Government is disappointing. It shows that these men lack of resilient and stable mind. A sound politician should abide by the ideology of his party, when it is winning or sinking in an election.”

The group, therefore, vehemently condemned the unstable attitude of the following appointees that cross carpet during the election, “we regretted that the role of some of the appointees was geared to ensure that the PDP fails, but Bayelsans stood their ground and voted for the PDP and the countryman Governor Seriake Dickson.”

The group cited the case of Dr. Iluma (SACA boss), who publicly dumped the PDP few days to the December 5 election, in a radio programme and press statement where he lambasted the governor for not funding the world AIDS day celebration, as well as other activities geared towards mitigation and care for those infected with the virus.

The leader of the group, Comrade Tarilayefa Binaebi said it was not possible for one to eat his cake and have it, stressing that it is foolhardy for Iluma to deny his public outburst on the radio station.

He pointed that evidently, surveillance team of the Bayelsa Restoration Campaign Organization (BRYCO), also spotted him at meetings and campaign rallies of the APC in the state.

Binaebi, who condemned the appointees for their misdemeanour, averred that there was no standing on two poles, neither is there room for border line politicking, adding that it is either one is standing for the PDP or taking side with the APC.

The leader of the group said that for Iluma to re-trace his steps by denying that he never resign his appointment and that he remain a faithful follower of the PDP upon the outcome of the December 5 poll that separated the PDP and the APC with 33, 000 votes is condemnable, treacherous and fallacious.

He therefore called on the party and other stakeholders of the Governor Dickson support groups for a second term to look critically into the act of betrayer and abuse of office by some serving appointees of the Dickson Restoration Government.

“To this end, we call on all party faithful to brace up for the January 9 rerun election; and come out en-masse to consolidate on the PDP lead by voting massively for the countryman governor (Hon. Seriake Dickson), and to enable INEC declared him winner and re-elected governor for a second term in office” the group added.
