Some gunmen have kidnapped the immediate past chairman of the Ondo State Muslim Welfare Board, Alhaji Jimoh Ibrahim.
It was gathered on Tuesday, that Ibrahim was abducted close to his printing shop, at Eru Oba Street, in Akure, the state capital, while trying to sort out some printing materials.
Sources told Daily Times correspondent that the State Muslim Welfare Board ex-chair was whisked away in his private vehicle by his abductors.
A source in the family told journalists that Ibrahim’s wife, Alhaja Adijat slumped on hearing the report of the incident and was rushed to a hospital.
The source further confirmed that the kidnappers had reached out to the family members and demanded the sum of N15 million before he could be release.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Wale Ogodo, confirmed the incident and said a manhunt had been launched for the kidnappers.
