…Gov orders probe
Properties and valuable documents worth millions of Naira were on Tuesday night allegedly destroyed by an inferno which gutted about 17 offices at headquarters of the Kwara Ministry of Energy, llorin.
Eye witness account told our Correspondent in llorin that the fire incident which started at about eight o’clock in the evening of Tuesday lasted till early hours of Wednesday.
It was further gathered that it took the team of fire fighters from the State Fire Service more than five hours before the inferno was put out at about half past one on Wednesday morning.
The State Commissioner for Energy, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi while speaking with our Correspondent in llorin on Wednesday said power surge from one of the affected offices was suspected to be the cause of the incident.
He disclosed that his office, Permanent Secretary’s and directors’ offices were among the places affected.
Meanwhile the State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed has immediate probe into the incident with a view to determining its immediate and remote causes and those responsible for it.
