FG reopens 104 unity schools


The federal government has reopened 104 unity schools to SS3 students from August 4.

Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba said this on Monday, July 3 at the end of a virtual meeting with Commissioners of Education in 36 States and other stakeholders.

In a statement by the Director, Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Education (FMoE), Ben Goong, the lauded the Principals of Unity schools for the comprehensive preparation put in place ahead of tomorrow’s resumption.

“From today, the Honourable Minister of State for Education, Permanent Secretary and Directors will embark on an assessment tour of all Unity schools to ascertain and confirm the reports they have received from the Principals of Unity Colleges,” the statement said

DailyTimes had reported that the reopening of exit classes will enable the students to have 2 weeks to prepare for their West African Examination Council (WAEC) examination which is scheduled to start on August 17, 2020.
