Ebonyi to boost economy with N3bn

The Ebonyi State Government has said that it would between the months of May and June inject three billion naira to boost its economy.

Governor David Umahi, who disclosed this during an enlarged State Executive Council meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party held at bouquet hall, Government House, Abakaliki, explained that two billion naira would be injected essentially through award of contracts to indigenes, who have registered businesses.

He said government would ensure indigenous youths and women participated in bidding for some of the contracts that would be advertised and ensured that they qualified.

He added that the state government had also put forward one billion naira as a part of the loan it borrowed for rice production waiting for co-operative societies, big and small farmers, who would show interest in soft loans.
