Court jails septuagenarian for raping teenagers

An Osun State High Court, Ilesha Division, has sentenced a septuagenarian, Chief Moses Adeniyi, to seven years imprisonment for raping 13-year-old and 14-year-old girls.

The judgement was delivered by Honourable Justice Kudirat M. Akano.

The charge against Adeniyi statement read: “Sometime in May 2010. Chief Moses Adeniyi gave a ride to two teenagers of thirteen and fourteen years of age, students of St. Margaret Girls‎ School Ilesha, on their way home from School. The seventy-year-old Chief Moses Adeniyi was once a neighbour to one of the girls, so they accepted his offer of a ride from without suspecting he up to a mischief.

“Instead of dropping them at home the chief took them to his hotel, Prince Way Hotel asked them into a room and told them not to shout because whoever shouts will die. After which, he raped them in turn.”

“After he raped each of them, he wiped their vagina with a white handkerchief he then warned them not to tell anyone otherwise they will die.

“The convict‘s action came to the open when one of the girls’ mother, got to know through another student, that a man gave the girls a ride. The woman then went to the school to inquire from the teachers.”
